The world of Tax and Accountancy Services has long been one of formality and often outdated tradition where the clients needs have not been fully thought about. This is the 21st Century, we are different and do not believe in basing services on outdated ideas and old working practices.
Whilst you can rest assured that all of our staff are qualified and have received full and comprehensive training over many years (decades in many circumstances) that’s where the formality ends. Our main aim is to provide the service we would expect ourselves, at a cost we would expect to pay, no more no less.
With this in mind, we have a predominantly set “menu” of charges fixed at the outset. Of course there are circumstances that don't fit this rule, but over 90% of our clients pay a fee fixed each year in advance and you can rest assured that we will advise you of any alterations before we undertake any work for you.
Located across the UK we have been established since 1997. Whilst each office is owned and operates independently, the fact that we are bound together in a loose but committed association enables us to draw on expertise in all areas of taxation and accountancy matters.
We have clients all over the world, many choosing to retain our services even though they live thousands of miles away, we think that says more than we ever could about the service and value for money we strive to provide.

I started my career joining the Tax Department of a High Street Bank. After 2 ½ years with them I spent 7 years with Ernst and Young Chartered Accountants, predominantly within Personal Tax but also within their Owner Managed Business, Insolvency/Recovery and Partnership Departments. Developing an interest in IT, I then Project Managed the provision of Management and Accountancy software for various sized retailers and companies via a national Software House for 3 years. I returned to Personal Tax in 1997 when I joined the Tax Team on the opening of its offices in Exeter.
I believe gearing a competitive level of Service to the person is the main reason clients come to and stay with our company. People should feel comfortable with their tax adviser, and every client is as important to us, regardless of fee.

My career in taxation started with the Inland Revenue (now HM Revenue & Customs) where I trained and qualified as an Inspector of Taxes. On moving to the private sector, I worked for a number of years as Tax Manager for a local firm of accountants in the Oxford area. In my early days with them I widened my tax knowledge and qualified in 1993 as a Chartered Tax Adviser. The introduction of Self Assessment in 1996/97 heralded a major practical change in the world of taxation and prompted me to implement my own career move by becoming part of The Tax Team.
The ethos of The Tax Team is exactly the way I like to do business – by treating clients as individuals and providing a level of service which I can be proud of.
Sheffield Office

Tim – I worked in private practice in Chesterfield and Sheffield from 1973. Prior to joining The Tax Team in 1997 I was the tax and audit manager for an independent firm in Sheffield.
Julie - I worked in private practice in Sheffield, with Tim, prior to joining The Tax Team in 1997. My previous practice experience covers payroll, bookkeeping and computerised accounts. I qualified as a Taxation Technician in May 2000.
Located at 470 Ecclesall Road, Sheffield since 1997. We provide a one-stop shop for all your taxation and accountancy requirements. We offer a wide range of services to corporate and personal clients, not only in the local Sheffield area but also throughout the UK.
We have now worked in practice together for 25 years and believe our business success is based on our professional and approachable style of service.
